In a rare move, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed to rehear the educators’ case after a three-judge panel ruled that the training did not violate their rights. This week, SLF appeared before the entire court to explain how the training violated the educators’ First Amendment rights by compelling them to speak and affirm the district’s views on contested topics like white supremacy.
SLF’s petition for rehearing was supported by 14 states, including Missouri, and four organizations to push back against the unconstitutional mandates of so-called anti-racism in schools.
