Just the News: Obama briefing memos, sensitive foreign conversations forwarded to Biden private email, memos show

(March 12, 2025): Just the News reports on the latest in Southeastern Legal Foundation’s (SLF’s) FOIA lawsuit to uncover the truth behind then-Vice President Biden’s private pseudonymous emails. SLF submitted a FOIA request to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in 2022 seeking Biden’s alias emails from his time as vice president. After dragging its feet and refusing to produce a single email–despite identifying nearly 5400 potentially responsive records–SLF sued NARA.

According to the latest documents released to SLF in response to the lawsuit, Biden used his pseudonym email accounts for information about Situation Room meetings, discussions about conversations with foreign leaders, briefing materials for President Obama, and more. For instance, one record shows that Biden and his staff discussed a call with Iraq’s prime minister. Another record shows that his team circulated a foreign policy memo to his private accounts.

Many of the materials are redacted, so it is difficult to determine whether the information in the emails was classified. But the latest release confirms that Biden was conducting government business on private email accounts.
