Before you can successfully convey your message, you need to understand your right to share it. Here you will find the tools you need to stand up for your right to speak freely.
Saving Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a civil rights law passed by Congress that requires schools receiving federal funding to provide equal educational opportunities to boys and girls and has served as the bulwark against sex discrimination in our nation’s schools. Because of Title IX, our nation’s schools must treat all students equally regardless of their sex. Title IX also protects the rights of girls and boys to have sex-separate athletic teams and private spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms.

The First Amendment shouldn’t be complicated.
But these days, colleges compel students to keep quiet, making it difficult to share their ideas. Students know they need to stand up for their rights, but they often don’t know where to turn.
That’s why we’ve compiled this handbook.
In it you’ll find an overview of First Amendment laws on college campuses, what colleges can and cannot restrict, and hypotheticals to help you navigate the problems you might encounter.
Training Sessions, Webinars and More
Since launching the 1A Project, SLF has reached hundreds of college students at universities across the country through training sessions, webinars, and round table discussions.
We tailor our discussions to each campus, each policy, and each student.
We team up with organizations like Leadership Institute, Federalist Society, Turning Point USA, College Republicans, Young Americans for Liberty, Network of Enlightened Women, Young America’s Foundation, and more to bring our First Amendment programming directly to students. Not part of an official student club? No problem! We work with groups both large and small.
