Southeastern Legal Foundation congratulates Braden Boucek on confirmation as new United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee

(Dec. 19, 2025): Today, Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), proudly congratulates longtime team member, Braden Boucek, on his confirmation as United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. Boucek was nominated for the position by President Donald Trump and started his legal career in Tennessee.

Boucek joined SLF in 2021 as Senior Vice President of Litigation, where he led groundbreaking constitutional cases and helped shape policy initiatives that advanced individual liberty and limited government.

During his time at SLF, Boucek served with distinction, managing litigation and shaping policy and advocacy efforts nationwide. His distinguished legal career also includes service as vice president of a state-based public interest law and policy center, and nearly 14 years as a state and federal prosecutor in both the Nashville and Memphis areas.

SLF President Kim Hermann said, “Braden has been an invaluable member of the SLF team, having been a strong champion for freedom and liberty his entire career. I have no doubt that he will bring the same amount of passion and love for his country and for the rights of its people to his role as United States Attorney as he has here at SLF. I am thrilled for the Middle District of Tennessee and for the American People. In Braden, they are gaining not only a strong advocate, but a truly great American who has dedicated his career to rebuilding the American Republic.”

Braden Boucek, newly confirmed U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, said, “My time at SLF has been an incredible experience where I have been able to exercise my abilities in litigation to protect people’s rights and to hold the government accountable when it oversteps. I am thrilled to be starting this new chapter as U.S. Attorney and I cannot thank President Trump enough for the nomination. However, I have to thank the SLF team especially because I truly believe that I wouldn’t be in this position if not for my time there. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve with this team and I have full faith that they will continue to excel in their mission to protect the American people from government overreach.”
