[April 6, 2026]: Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) releases the following statement after the Department of Education’s announcement rescinding illegal Title IX agreements:
Today marks a huge win for Title IX! The U.S. Department of Education has announced that it will be rescinding Obama-era school policies in school districts that grossly violated Title IX policies. The policy banned “gender-based discrimination” while completely undermining Title IX sex-separate protections put in place to keep boys and girls protected in locker rooms, bathrooms, and on the athletic field. It was a woke and downright illegal policy that looked to misinterpret Title IX, issuing violations to students and parents who acknowledged their discomfort with sharing spaces with transgender students, claiming it as discrimination and harassment.
At SLF, we are proud to fight for the students and parents that stand up to these insane policies and that’s exactly why we originally requested the rescinding of these policies in Delaware Valley school districts. It can’t be stressed enough that the actions of the Department of Education are a massive step forward in protecting the true values of Title IX and keeping students safe and comfortable. We applaud this proactive action and are thankful that students in this district can rest assured that they will not be punished when they acknowledge their discomfort.
