Nov. 27, 2024: Southeastern Legal Foundation issues the following statement regarding the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals’ recent order granting its petition to rehear Henderson v. Springfield Public Schools:
“We recently won our legal request for the Henderson v. Springfield Public Schools case to be reheard by all the judges of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in Missouri. This kind of legal ruling is incredibly rare, and our petition for rehearing in this case was supported by 14 states, including Missouri, and 4 organizations to legally push back against the unconstitutional mandates of so-called anti-racism in schools. This ruling paves the way for the Eighth Circuit to affirm the constitutional rights of teachers and administrators who do not want to be forced into completing anti-racism trainings that conflict with their personal beliefs on race and humanity.”
